Momma I found a bone in the backyard, do you know that means a whole t-rex could be back there?

Her story

In 2004 our world was brightened when Sydney entered our lives. Our world was shattered in 2013 when she left us.

Sydney left us along with 6 friends when a tornado hit Moore in May of 2013. Her softball team held a fundraiser tournament for her family and the concept of #play4Syd was born. Teams from all over Oklahoma, and friends & family from out of state came to help support Sydney’s family. Sydney’s family decided they wanted to use this concept of playing for Sydney, and then the Sydney Angle Memorial Foundation was born. In 2014 we held our first tournament with the goal of awarding even just one scholarship and we were blown away when we were able to award our first 3 scholarships.

10 years later and we can proudly say that what we have done Sydney’s legacy is more than we ever thought possible and we are so thankful and blessed to be still at work! We have so many amazing accomplishments but more importantly, we’ve been able to meet so many wonderful people over the last 10 years.. We have seen God’s word around it all.

Since 2014, we have awarded over $220,000 in scholarships to over 50 Oklahoma graduates continuing on to play softball at the collegiate level. We wanted to give back to Oklahoma and the softball community after all it had given to Sydney’s family.

Each year we try to pack a softball park with as much fun and softball as possible. Turkey legs, corn, a certain chicken dressed as a cow, music, dancing, and lots of laughter. Oh! And of course, softball. Come on out, and come #play4syd
